Contemporary Glass Artist – Nath Allan, 2008-2015, Process
TITLE: Contemporary Glass Artist – Nath Allan, 2008-2015
MEDIUM: Blown Glass, Found Objects, Subjectivity, Self-reflexivity
DIMENSIONS: Variable
DESCRIPTION:
In 2008, I moved to the remote outback city of Perth, Australia to learn the techniques of studio glass blowing. For years I worked under the artistic alias “Nath Allan”, honing my practice and identity as a glass artist; a distinctly separate studio practice that sought to both create and bridge the chasm that can exist between contemporary art and fine craft. Theses blown glass sculptures are the representational artifacts of this process of solidifying an identity as an artist.
